Our Team
Jayne Durden
Jayne’s a USCG 25-ton Master captain. She’s been sailing since she was a kid on the beach in Australia, in dinghies on Port Phillip Bay and then further afield in larger sailboats with her family.
Settling in the Chesapeake, she bought her Beneteau 331 from another woman sailor and the existing name of the boat stuck - HAPPY PLACE! And the boat really has lived up to her name.
Jayne cruises and races on Happy Place from Herrington Harbour North in Deale, MD. She’s the current Commodore of Herrington Harbour Sailing Association, and also runs the Women Underway program.
What she’s been up to:
Winner of 2021 , 2022 and 2023 HHSA Women’s Regatta (non-spin)
